Puppy Waitlists
We use a "master list" puppy reservation process. This is a streamlined approach used by breeders to manage puppy reservations more efficiently. Here's an overview of how our waitlist works:
Single List Structure: Instead of having separate reservation lists for each litter, we maintain a single "master list" for each size category, such as mediums/standards and petites/minis. This consolidation simplifies the reservation process and ensures a fair and organized system.
Reservation Placement: Families interested in reserving a puppy are added to the master list in chronological order based on when their reservation was made. The breeder may reserve the right to place themselves at the top of the list to make the initial selection from each litter.
Selection Process: When a litter becomes available, typically around 5-6 weeks of age, families on the master list are invited to select their puppy based on their position. As the breeder, we may choose our puppies first, followed by families in sequence according to the list.
Flexibility: Families have the flexibility to choose a puppy from the current litter or opt to wait for a later litter if their preferred characteristics are not available. They can defer their selection while retaining their place on the master list.
Returning to the List: Before the final payment deadline, families can change their minds and return to the master list if they wish to reconsider their puppy selection. Upon returning to the list, they resume their position following the family that reserved before them.
Prioritization: Early reservations grant priority placement on the master list, ensuring families have a better chance of selecting their preferred puppy. However, families with less specific preferences may still acquire a puppy sooner, even if the waiting list appears full.
Transparency and Communication: Throughout the process and communicate with families about litter availability, selection timelines, and any updates to the reservation list.
Breeder Discretion: We reserve the right to withhold placing a puppy in a home if we deem the puppy or the family unsuitable. In such cases, families may choose from remaining available puppies or remain on the reservation list for future litters.
